I have had a couple of customers that have accepted a firmware update on their Brother printers. DO NOT DO THIS!! Brother wants you to do this so your printer won't work using the generic toners. I am attaching directions on how to disable this on your Brother printers. Never accept updated on any of your printers as other manufactures may try to do the same thing. 1. Step 1: Select the tool icon on the printer display. 2. Step 2: Select “All Settings" 3. Step 3: Select “Machine Info." 4. Step 4: Select “Firmware Auto Check" 5. 5: Select “Off" to turn off updates"
